Why we do what we do?
It is the easiest and the most difficult thing to explain about your business.
In our case, we know why... we want to empower local, sustainable business. Because we are in people business. We commit ourselves to social impact & everything we do needs to be able to find its way back to this unifying motto.
We are very small right now, but our ideas are big. We are social entrepreneurs at heart. The Covid-19 crisis has only highlighted the big chasm between small, local shops and larger, global e-commerce marketplaces. We want to give the local shops a usage friendly marketplace that is localized enough to listen & change according to the country of culture of the region. People of the city finally get an option to order online and with convenience without triggering a chain of waste & huge carbon footprint.
Given the huge imbalance in employment opportunities for the disabled and disadvantaged people, we want to be able to give them preference in employment. Our services are often regular tasks that can be handled by people of varying degrees of ability. Then why not? Let's bring opportunities to people who need them & are hungry for them.
A big part of this initiative is educating the customers. We believe that people like to be a part of something bigger than themselves. And through repeated exposure to normalized disadvantaged staff hirings, sustainable practices & coming across local, good quality products, we want to accelerate the pace at which the local movement is growing. In our own, small, soon to be big, well intentioned way.
Every business is a body & its Mission is the soul.
At Fyppit, our heart & soul is Social Impact. We firmly believe that the only way forward for the world is to switch to ethical businesses.
It's not a trend. It is evolution.
